New Cabinet Secretary visits KPRL

The newly appointed CS Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Hon. James Opiyo Wandayi, EGH, MP made his inaugural visit to the Changamwe Refinery in Mombasa on 26th September 2024 where he met Board members and Management of the company. During the visit, he was appraised on the status of ongoing projects in LPG storage and loading facilities. He visited the sites of the newly constructed loading gantry and the upcoming Bulk LPG facility being facilitated through a private partnership venture.

He clarified that the Government has no plans to revive oil refining in the country and that the existing infrastructure will be used to store refined products. He added that the Government is in the final stages of merging the Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) and KPRL for optimal and efficient use of existing manpower and substructure.
