LPG Project Launched on 14th November 2024

The ultra-modern Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Bottom Loading Facility (BLF) at the Kenya Petroleum Refineries; a common user facility by KPC is poised to revolutionize the availability and penetration of LPG in the country, parent company KPC Managing Director Joe Sang has said.

In a speech read on his behalf by the KPC General Manager Finance, Pius Mwendwa during the facility’s soft launch, Sang said the successful launch of the facility heralds a new paradigm in the reticulation of the product with immense benefits to the public. “The bottlenecks hitherto associated with the availability of the product in the country will be drastically reduced. The flexibility, efficiency, and reliability onboarded by the facility cannot be overemphasized as it provides an opportunity for more players to venture into the business,” he said.

Mr. Sang said the safe, efficient, reliable, and user-friendly facility has two loading bays with a truck turnaround time of 45 minutes at a flow rate of 60m3 per hour. He cited equal treatment of customers, flexibility of LPG imports, and use of accredited laboratories, reduced product cost as some of the benefits.
